South West Region

Under the leadership of Regional Chair Alan Hall, the Regional team has been revised and Alan has published his key objectives for the coming 18 months:

They are as follows:

• Finance - A common subsidy scheme where every member receives the same benefits as another member,
• Area Support - For area members and committee members
• Improve Communication and Participation in both sport and leisure events
• Develop regional and area guidelines so that the whole region receives benefits and local area sports and leisure events.
• Continue having fun!

With this in mind, the new team has specific roles. And Team South West committee is now made up as follows:

Chair - Alan Hall (contact details)

Secretary - Caroline Churchill

Treasurer - Diane Allen (a finance sub committee working with Diane will shortly be in place)

Sports - co ordinator - Neill Bond.

Neill is currently working with a sub committee which, during the next year, will be revising the whole of the sports programme and subsidy scheme. His committee will also be responsible for working on financial assistance with regional projects for example, The CSSC Games, Barbados, and The regional Activity weekend. Communications officer - Polly Willmott.

Polly will be the main communications officer and will be responsible with working with the rest of the committee to ensure that projects are carried out on time. She will also be responsible for amendments to the regional web pages and organisers should contact her directly for news items etc to be advertised on the pages. Information for this newsletter should also be passed to her. As time goes by, she will be working with a sub committee to ensure that regular information is issued to members via newsletters and web amendments.

Area team;

The Area team is made up of five members who under the direction of regional vice chair James Street, will each be responsible for a cluster of Areas and ensure that Areas are working with a common theme. Their first task will be to work with Areas to ensure that all members receive a common subsidy for their CSSC sport and also that the Region is able to finance their responsibilities for On Line Shopping in 2012 once we are on line. This in itself is a considerable amount of work, but an end result of all members having the same benefits will be well worth while.

Each of these members will be working with a representative from your Area thereby ensuring that your voice is heard at regional level, but you can contact any of them at any time should you wish to do so.
