Places on that plane to Barbados begin to be allocated !

After a lot of preparatory work, the competition season for the South West's Barbados Challenge is well underway and places on the much sought after trip are now beginning to be won!

The men's and women's golf competitions were the first to be finalised with the following members having booked their place on the 2009 trip to the Caribbean:

Simon Brewer (MOD) Bath
Roy Mitchell (VOA) Taunton
Lisa Brewer (DWP) Torbay
Wendy Kingdon (DWP) St Austell and Bodmin.

It's great that our first four winners all come from different Area Associations and three different government departments.

Quick on the heels of the golfers were our cricketers. Nine teams battled it out at the event held at Taunton Civil Service Club with MOD Abbeywood 1, from Bristol Area winning through after a great day's competition - members from yet another Area!

All of these members now have a fantastic trip to Barbados to look forward to next year. Why don't you join them? There are still plenty of events to be staged and chances to qualify from Dominoes to Volleyball and Netball to Darts. Click on the link for the full event schedule.

One sport that almost everyone can play is Mixed Rounders. Why not get a team up from your office and enter today - before you know it you and your colleagues might just gain places on that plane to Barbados! For further details, contact Lacey Kenworthy, lacey.kenworthy@cssc.co.uk 01494 888427.
