Local boys win the National event - E-Gaminge_gaming

Reading - 3 September 2010

Vince King, Ramon Mackender and Christopher Arnold all took part in the team event. Along with two helpers from other regions (due to a lack of numbers) the team won both the regional and national finals.

After winning the regional final at Reading, the team had to play another match against the other regional winners at Glasgow.

Due to technical difficulties, the National final's of the PC Modern Warfare 2 event was played late in the day. Because of these difficulties, it was decided that the game would be Call of Duty 4 for the grand finals. The map chosen was called Overgrown.

Overgrown is a large map with plenty of places to hide and ambush from.

As the game played, the points were fairly evenly matched. The scores were 5 - 7 against the South East and friends team (first to 8 wins). There was an amazing effort by the team to come out winning the event 8 - 7.

Upon winning the grand finals, the South East and friend's team were presented with the Xbox 360 MW2 event trophy. Xbox 360? The title was for the PC event, not Xbox. Apparently this was because Glasgow had foresight, and had already decided that they were going to win the PC event, and because of this decided there was no need for the trophy at Reading.

Talk about foot in mouth guys!
