CSSC recently received a letter of thanks from one of our members.
After joining the organisation, Stephen Walton has been involved in a number of trips that his Area Association - Dover & Folkestone - has been able to offer.
With huge savings made and great memories gathered, he's thrilled to have become a member.
The full letter can be read below.
"This year, through CSSC, I have been on a few trips which I would have not necessarily been able to go on due to either availability or cost.
At the beginning of the year I went on two theatre trips to see Spamalot and The Blueman Group in London. Both trips were very enjoyable and the discounted tickets more than paid for a year's membership.
At the end of April I helped organise a trip to the war graves on the Somme. With the help of CSSC it made the trip not only affordable but we were able to do an itinerary which fitted in virtually everything that we wanted to see as well as recommend a place that served a very nice lunch.
Later on in the year we organised a trip to London for the British Beer Festival and the Star Wars Exhibition - CSSC paid for the coach. They also provided transport for the trip up to Chiswick in West London of the annual Caribbean sports challenge with winners going to Barbados. I entered the Petanque competition but unfortunately lost in our second game.
Throughout the summer the CSSC have made available membership packages to go and see Kent cricket. It includes a member and guest, which saves £15 each for a day's entertainment watching county cricket. I was able to use it a couple of times during the season and it saved me nearly a year's worth of subscription before I went on any other trip.
Later in the year I booked to go on the theatre trip to Brighton to see War of The Worlds and next year I have already booked in to see Lord Of The Rings.
Even though I have only been on a handful of the trips that CSSC have run this year, I reckon that I probably saved the equivalent of a years worth of subs if I had to have paid full price on the trips.
If asked to say how much I have saved by being a member it would be £145 and if I added on travel to the events it would be over £200. It is great going as group and having a coach drop you at the theatre is even better.
I am so glad I joined.
