Walking With Wildlife - A New Group
The Brighton and Worthing Area has created a new group called "Walking With Wildlife" and on the 16th November they had their first outing at the RSPB Reserve Pulborough Brooks.
10 intrepid walkers met up at 9.30am and after a nice cup of tea they embarked on a guided tour of the nature trail. They then had a wonderful buffet lunch and listened to the work being undertaken by RSPB at this flagship site.
The afternoon was free for the group to explore and some 38 different species of birds were spotted throughout the day.
A photo competition was held and it was the fungi that produced the best results. Carol Cuckney walked off with first prize (a bird feeder) and Jon Austin was runner-up (bird seed).
For our first event it was very successful and more events are being planned for visits to Pagham Harbour, Broadwater Warren, Warnham and many more. We hope to organise at least one visit per month.
