Volunteer on the Spot - David Elder
What is your current job and where do you work?
I work for HMRC based at Sidlaw House in Dundee.
How did you come to be involved with CSSC?
I think my first experience with CSSC was regional football events. Crippled by a chronic lack of fitness and ability, organising events seemed a logical step. My team mates were ecstatic.
Describe your normal week?
Work, family, play and watching Dundee FC play poorly (again).
What skills do you need to do your job with CSSC?
A good memory, patience, attention to detail and an understanding of the shared values that make CSSC the fantastic organisation it is. And if anyone knows where I can get these qualities, please let me know.
What aspect of your life do you most enjoy?
I have always loved playing sport in general, albeit with varying levels of success. It teaches us a lot about ourselves and those around us.
What would you do with a million pounds?
I would build a house and save the rest for the kids.
Which color of umbrella do you like?
Never use umbrellas, my hair looks less grey in the rain.
During your child hood what was your favorite comic character?
Judge Dread. I had a hard childhood!
In 3 words how would you sum yourself up?
Overweight and underpaid.
