Scotland Snooker Competition 2009
| Who was on the ball at the Scottish Snooker Competition 2009? The Scottish CSSC snooker competition took place on Sunday 31 May 2009. We used a double eliminator format to ensure everyone had two chances to qualify for the CSSC UK finals. Once knocked out of the main competition, each player moved into the second competition. Main competition: Semi Finals: Harry Brebner beat Alan Thomson 3-0; Jim Meikle beat Derek Green 3 – 0. Final: Jim Meikle beat Harry Brebner 3 – 0. (Harry lost two black ball frames.) Second competition: Semi Final: Michael Mulford beat Derek Green 2 – 1. Final: Although winning the first frame, Michael Mulford lost 2 – 1 to Harry Brebner. Winner Jim Meikle with Harry Brebner second qualifier. We have used this format for the past 4 years and the players have enjoyed the second chance of qualifying. This is the first time Jim has won the Scottish competition, having lost out to Harry in the past 2 finals. Well done Jim! |
