Mixed Pairs Bowls Result
| A bumper entry of 18 pairs entered this tournament which was held on 17th August at Edinburgh Bowling Club. The weather was kind with only a few minutes of rain throughout the whole day. Each pair played three games of six ends each which then went to a knockout at semi-finals and final stages of the competition. Pairs consisted of one male, one female and the appeal of the tournament was that only one of the pair had to be a subscribing CSSC member -this allowed couples and friends to play together making for a very sociable event. The overall winners were Frank Hair and Helen Boyne from Edinburgh Bowling Club (pictured here with tournament organiser, Linda Booden) who beat Jamie and Linda Burns from East Kilbride Contact Centre in the final. The tournament is already in the planning stage for 2009 and the venue is expected to be Rosyth. |
