Tyne Wear and Northumberland General Information

Important information on how your Area Association works and what we can do for you.

CSSC Tyne, Wear and Northumberland (TWN) has around 5,000 members.

The CSSC Tyne, Wear & Northumberland Area Association (TWN) will offer membership benefits to any CSSC member who works or lives within any of the NE, SR1-7 or TD12 & 15 postal districts. Membership is deemed to begin as soon as the application for membership is submitted. In addition, members employed within the Area immediately prior to retirement will have the option to remain a member of the Area even if they live outside its boundaries.

We organise trips and events and support members of CSSC in the Area who want to organise their own events. We support individual members and teams of members taking part in sports events and run regular free prize draws to win things like tickets to the home matches of NUFC/SAFC/Newcastle Falcons RFU and Durham County Cricket club.

We also have special offers on concert and cinema tickets, beer festivals, pamper days and entry to places like Beamish Open Air Museum and Alnwick Gardens.

To receive the latest news from CSSC TWN Area, you need to sign up to receive our e-mail bulletins. Send an e-mail to Jon McIlvaney stating your name and CSSC number.

If you are a member and do not know your CSSC number, contact CSSC Head Office on (01494) 888444. Have your staff number handy and they should be able to tell you your number and update your details on their records. At the same time or by ringing the same number, you can request a new CSSC membership card if you can't find the original.

If you are a Civil Servant, a retired Civil Servant or working on Civil Service business and want to join CSSC complete and return a membership application form

CSSC TWN Constitution and Policies

CSSC is your organisation run by members for members.

The CSSC TWN Area management committee have developed a policy document to help make the decisions we take open and fair. One of our most important policies is that all claims for expenses and offers must be made in advance of the event. Please take the time to read this document, to save disappointment.

See what we did in 2010 in our 2010 Annual Report.

Our Constitution, Area Policies and Annual Report documents can be viewed by clicking on the links in the right hand margin of the main AA page.
