North East Darts Regional Qualifier

The following were successful in making it through to represent the region at the Nationals in Stoke:

Men's Singles – Mark Newsome
Men's Team – Wally Scott, Robert Urwin and Carl Patterson
Ladies' Singles – Katie Ellis
Ladies' Doubles – Paula Hunter and Deby Wilson

Two entrants, Colin Argyle and Pam Cowan, were not there on the day.

Some feedback from the event was that, although the venue was good for all the needs for a darts event, the time constraints the club places on being able to get in and the time by which we have to vacate the room, causes problems. We needed to vacate the room by 5pm, but at 6pm we still had the Ladies' singles semi-finals to be played, which resulted in having to go downstairs and use the dartboard in the bar, which was not the best.

Due to time constraints, we could not run a "round robin" competition for both singles events as the team games took too long. This was unfair to those entrants only entered in the singles events as they needed to wait until the team event ended. Then, if they got beaten in the first round of games, their day was over.
