Big Day Out

The Big Day Out was organised by the Civil Service in the North East team for civil servants and their families and there was a whole host of activities and events for everyone to take part in.

The event was only made possible with the support of CSSC, CSIS, CS Healthcare and the Civil Service Benevolent Fund, who all attended on the day to lend their support and to raise awareness.

Activities included:

Family fun events such as races, competitions and raffles.
Bands and other live entertainment.
The Sustainability Zone which gave really interesting information on how to save energy and reduce bills, along with recycling and many other exhibits.
Tasty treats in the Food Zone.
A Health and Well-being zone which provided a wide variety of things to see, do and find out about.
Indian Head Massage, Reiki and other taster sessions.
A Sports Zone with taster sessions and coaching sessions with a variety of teams from the region including Gateshead Thunder and Gateshead Harriers.
Space Hoppers, Giant Jenga, face-painting and loads more!

All in all it was a fantastic great value day out enjoyed by thousands of people. So, yes, the organisers most certainly put a smile on people's faces and CSSC was proud to support this great event.
