Where are all the women players?
The qualifying event for CSSC National golf competitions was held on 5 June at Brocton Hall GC. The winner of the Scratch event was Martin Davies with a gross 144. Paul Sutton (146) and Paul Corbett (153) followed and all 3 will represent the Midlands at the finals. The winners in the Handicap competition were (net scores in brackets) Geoff Irwin (132), George Turley (135 and Paul Corbett (137).
Trish Franklin was the only lady competitor but she also qualifies for the national event on the national order of merit system with a net 150 over the 36 holes.
Look out for details of the next Midlands event due to be held in October.
