CSSC'S team arrived on 3 - 4 October 2011 to take on the Barbados civil service and other local 
teams in the 8th year of our series of "Barbados Challenge" competitions.
108 CSSC members from CSSC's London, South, South East and South West Regions (a total of some 175 people with their spouses, partners etc) competed in a variety of events.
The Challenge started with an evening reception on Tuesday 4 October - sponsored by the Barbados Tourism Authority at the Coconut Court Hotel, with the Deputy High Commissioner and four Barbados Cricket legends including Sir Garfield Sobers in attendance.
The competition events took place between Wednesday 5th and Sunday 9th October at a 
variety of venues - from the Police Sports Club and the Wanderers Cricket Ground, to the
National Netball Stadium and the Barbados & Rockley Golf Club. The formal part of the event finished with an evening presentation at Champers on Sunday 10th October - with the British High Commissioner Paul Brummell presenting the medal to all the competitors. This year the Bajans had a convincing overall win making the overall series tied at 4 wins each.
This year we also had a wedding on the Beach between two of our members - Marianne Glover and Mark Barnes, we wish them all the happiness for the future.
