London Bowls Club Information

Brief History of the Club

Civil Service Bowls

The club is descended from the London Civil Service Bowling Association, which was founded in 1925. The club was based at the Civil Service Sports Ground at Chiswick from 1925 until the closure of the bowling green in 2009.

From 2010 we have taken on a rather nomadic existence but have managed to continue with a full programme of matches and competitions.

Aims of the Club

We are interested in satisfying the needs of both recreational and competitively minded Civil Service bowlers within London and the surrounding areas. We encourage and welcome new bowlers and aim to promote and maintain bowls as an extremely social and informal sport for all who join us.
