Halloween Weekend 2011 at Caley Hall Norfolk

The weekend began on the Friday when some of the guests arrived in the afternoon, some chose to eat in the Hotels restaurant others made their way to the various other eateries nearby. Friday evening is either spent in the relaxing Hotel lounge or some enjoy the music and atmosphere of the local Bars nearby.

Saturday morning was dull and overcast to begin with but soon the sun came out and it was a beautiful day. Once breakfast was over everyone did their own thing for the day, the exceptional weather meant it was perfect for walking along the beach. While all the guests were out enjoying themselves the staff at Caley Hall was busy with the decorating of the restaurant. They did a wonderful job and, by 4 o'clock, once the balloons had been delivered and put in place the whole room looked great!

Saturday evening and the main event soon came around and at 7PM people began drifting into the bar area, some in fancy dress and some not. There were all degrees of fancy dress but it was all brilliant and everyone joined in. At 7:30 everyone made their way into the Restaurant for the evening meal. After collecting their bottle of wine and being seated at their tables it was down to the serious business of 'cracker pulling'. Fun over for a while, it was time to enjoy the delicious 3 course meal.

With everyone sufficiently fed it was time to adjourn to the lounge area for the evening disco. The music began and immediately there were dancers on the floor, obviously working off that delicious meal! The dance floor remained busy all the evening, and the dancing only stopped for the presentation of the prize for the Best Fancy Dress, this was won by Christine Hawkins from Essex. The prize was a "Magnificent Trophy" and a "Wonderful" bottle of bubbly, which was in fact Chardonnay but I'm sure it went down very well.

Sunday morning saw everyone at breakfast; some were leaving that morning, some staying for another night. Everyone agreed that it had been a good evening and there was a definite feeling that many more would be 'dressing up' in future.
