Eastern Region Team Golf Championship, Thetford Golf Club

On a glorious day for golf, 5 teams competed for the CSSC Eastern Region Team Championship at Thetford Golf Club.

Following the better ball scores of the morning, Milton Keynes Masters led by an excellent 38 points by Barry Milne, who had a commanding lead of 9 points. The afternoon Greensomes caused considerable drama with Milton Keynes Prisons making a late dash for glory, spearheaded by an impressive 43 points from Merridan and Kelly. A 3 put on the last hole by Milton Keynes Masters resulted in the overall scores being tied on 179. The championship was decided on the fourth score of the morning session having to be counted and Paddy Archibald's 25 proved crucial on securing the event for Milton Keynes Masters.

It was pleasing to see a first appearance by the LR Rovers (Land Registry) and all competing voiced their appreciation of a fine days golf played in good spirit.

The event was organised by Dave Prince ably assisted by Martin Cope and Mark Jeffreys.
