CSSC Team Report from Potters Leisure Resort

When I first saw the advert for CSSC's Eastern Region Inter-Area Sports Festival to be held at Potters Leisure Resort, I immediately got a team together from Harwich UKBA. We were really looking forward to participating in the events and enjoying the facilities on offer. Then much to our disappointment we heard that due to lack of interest the event had been cancelled.

I was then contacted by the CSSC and told that as we were the only received team entry, we were welcome to use the non-refundable deposit and still go to Potters and enjoy the facilities for free! We were very surprised and grateful to the CSSC for this amazing gesture.

After arriving at Potters on Sunday 13 March, we were made very welcome and told that we had free access to all the facilities at the resort during our stay. We participated in several activities that afternoon. In the evening we had a 5 course meal in the restaurant and were then treated to live entertainment from a 'Frankie Vallie and the Four Seasons' tribute band in the theatre, which was then followed by a disco that lasted until the early hours. The next day we participated in Adventure Golf, Curling, Giant Jenga and many other activities. We all had an absolutely fantastic time and still cannot believe, that thanks to the CSSC, all of this was completely FREE! We are definitely keeping an eye out for future Regional and Area CSSC activities to participate in and we would encourage more members to do the same!
