"With food, gas and petrol all going up, I have found that I save a fortune using my Countdown Card, this month alone I have saved over £100.00.

First I went into Bensons Beds and saved £63.00 on my Wardrobes by presenting my card, saved £20.00 in ASDA by phoning Countdown and topping up my ASDA Gift Card and purchasing some Morrisions Vouchers which came in the post within a week. Finally I saved £23.00 at B&Q by ordering a basin and toilet via Countdown B&Q Gift Card.

The next purchase I am going to make is Halfords Vouchers in the winter to help pay for the service on my car."

Also £51/month membership at Roko Gym in Gillingham was reduced to £39/month. In comparison, my local council run gym costs £34/month and you have to pay extra for classes and swimming. At Roko, classes and swimming are included in my membership."

The booking line was excellent, when I phoned and told them I was a countdown member they carried out my booking efficiently and sent me a reference via e-mail. This was all I required to pick up the tickets via the corporate and advance booking kiosks, which significantly reduced our queuing time. Had a fun day with the saving going towards food, drink, toys and sweets."

I knew that car insurance would be cheaper if he was the main policy holder but didn't realise that it applied to house insurance as well."

The card will be used for a purchase that was originally discounted by 50%, has then been discounted by a further 15% and will then attract a further saving of 8% thanks to Countdown. It's great to get extra savings on the lowest available in-store prices."

"Thanks to CSSC and Countdown, I have recently saved £80 on a bathroom suite worth about £1,000 using the Argos/Homebase shopping card. We also use the Sainsbury's shopping card for our weekly shop so save regularly on this - once you've got the card, it's easy to re-load it and start saving every week. I do take part in a couple of CSSC organised events, mainly fishing trips, which I'd like to be able to do more of, but am certainly enjoying the benefits of membership and will continue to do so".

"I think the shopping cards you can get with Countdown are brilliant! We shop at Sainsbury's and have set up a standing order so that we use the card on all our food and fuel shopping; it's fantastic. We also use the B&Q and Homebase gift cards as they're so easy to use and getting 8% off at B&Q is great. We've just bought a new kitchen and have saved a lot of money on this. We also went to the Southport Flower Show and saved money on that, so I'm definitely getting value for money from my membership. I keep encouraging colleagues to take up the offers as they're so easy to use. When you're coming up to retirement you have to start thinking of ways to save money, and this is ideal'.
