Open and Veteran Badminton Results
| The Open and Veterans Badminton Championships were held on 12 and 13 February 2010. The purpose built High Wycombe Badminton Centre hosted the tournament. Two very busy days of competition were held and played with great enthusiasm and in great spirit. Daniel Eghan returned to successfully defend the titles that he won last year. Marian Holmes, Chief Executive of CSSC, attended on the first day to present the trophies. Marian also made a special presentation of a large bouguet of flowers to Marguerite Butt who was retiring from her role as a Badminton organiser. Marguerite also received a card full of good wishes from the players. The Ernie Hill trophy was presented to Pierre Cruse for his all round good sportsmanship. The full results are as follows: Open – 12 February Ladies' Singles Winner – Claire Stott Runner Up – Emma Julian Men's Singles Winner – Daniel Eghan (defending champion) Runner Up – Felix Afum Ladies' Doubles Winners – Rachel Irish and Lorna Riggs Runners Up – Susan Hatfield and Claire Stott Men's Doubles Winners – Daniel Eghan and Anthony Cross Runners Up – Alan Alexander and Abdul Malique Mixed Doubles Winners – Rachel Irish and Ricky Evans Runners Up – Claire Stott and Russell Neilson Veterans – 13 February Men's Singles Winner – Daniel Eghan (defending champion) Runner Up – John Gardner Ladies' Doubles Winner – Marguerite Butt and Debbie Taylor Men's Doubles Winners – Daniel Eghan and Anthony Cross (for the 2nd successive year) Runners Up – John Gardner and Felix Afum Mixed Doubles Winners – Debbie Taylor and Abdul Malique Runners Up – Marguerite Butt and Anthony Cross The next national Badminton event will be the Open Team Championships which will also be held at the High Wycombe venue on Friday 3 September 2010.
