Sport Relief 2010 at DCSF

Sports relief this year was a team triathlon spread over 2 days, with a mile to be completed on the 3rd day!

On the first day, David bell, Baroness Morgan, Ed balls and Vernon Coaker visited the gym to complete their distance.

It was an exciting first session with lots of support from other department workers. On the second day, we had 11 teams compete. This took place in the canteen so there was lots of support and cheering. All the teams were desperate to beat the other teams that had already competed. The teams all tried to be at the minister's team and time of 4.7kilometers.

Running this event, we raised approximately £750, although we are still waiting for a final total. We had excellent distances from this event ranging from 4.97-9.0. We also had some impressive individual distances.

On the third day, we offered everyone to come up and run a mile on the running machine, rowing machines or upright bike. This encouraged some interest and people were glad that they could take part just for fun.
