World Indoor Tug Of War Championships
| CSSC Members Neil MacFarlane, Glyn Jones and Craig Mitchell are all members of the very successful CSSC tug of war team. All three took part at the World Indoor Tug Of War Championships in Faenza in Italy in February. Neil and Craig were with the Scotland squad and Glyn with England. Neil competed in the Open Clubs Championships at 560, 640 and 600 Kg. Glyn was in the 560 and 600 Kg. Craig contested the 640 and 600 Kg. None of them won any medals although Neil and Craig were in the Ayrshire team that reached the quarter finals of the 640 Kg only losing to the eventual winners Clonmany of Eire. Glyn the represented England in the 560 Kg category finishing 5th. Neil was one of the reserves for both the Scotland 560 and 600 Kg teams. they finished second and first but Neil never got on the rope. Craig represented Scotland in the 680 Kg, losing ion the final to The Netherlands. All three will be pulling for CSSC against the Police and the Combined Services in Blandford, Dorset in July. |
