Triangular Tug-of-war Championships 2008

The Triangular Tug of War Championships 2008 was hosted by the Combined Services at the Royal School of Signals, Blandford by kind permission of Brigadier TJP Watts Commander. This year's event took place on Thursday 17 July.

Combined Services A and B
British Police A and B
Civil Services A and B
The following are the weight classes and results in order of pull:
A. 600 kilo - 1st place - Combined Services A - 2nd place Police A - 3rd place CSSC A
B. 680 kilo - 1st place -Combined Services A - 2nd place Police A - 3rd place CSSC A
C. 640 kilo - 1st place - Combined Services A - 2nd Combined Services B - 3rd CSSC A
D. Catch - 1st place - Police A - runners up Combined Services A
The standard of pulling was very high this year and Combined Services dominated the competition by winning all weight categories except the catchweight, which was won in spectacular style by the Police. The Civil Service A and B teams put up a gallant fight especially in the first pull of the 600 and the 680 which both went to three ends.
Our thanks to all the teams that took part and all those involved in ensuring that it was successful and challenging competition.
