See who from the men's golf wins the place at Barbados...
Once again, the sun shone on a strong field of 42 players at the South West qualifiers for the Nationals held at Oake Manor near Wellington in Somerset. Despite blustery winds and the challenge of many lakes and streams, worthy winners emerged to go forward to the finals at Forest Pines in September.
In the Scratch competition, Tim Rogers (5) led the way with a gross of 142 whilst perennial qualifier, Roy Mitchell (5) goes forward with a gross of 145, accompanied by Steve Ballard (4) with a gross of 146.
In the Handicap, Graham Hull (8) took the honours with a nett 135, closely followed by Raymond Cox (12) and Daniel Alton (12), both with very creditable nett 138s.
Honourable mention also to Graham Hull for picking up the Seniors Cup.
Congratulations also goes to John Southway with an afternoon nett 61 and Tim Rogers with a pm nett 64 who will be jetting off to the Caribbean for the 2010 Barbados Challenge.
