Winners: North Fylde B

Runners up: Lytham St Annes

The North West CSSC cricket competition was held over 2 days on the 30 June and 7 July at the excellent St Annes Cricket Club venue.

9 teams competed on the first day in 3 groups of 3, 1 in the morning and 2 in the afternoon. The winner of each group qualified for the semi finals plus the best runner up, which were as follows:

Lytham St Annes beat Barrow.

Triad beat Preston and Chorley B who managed to progress further than their A Team!! Preston and Chorley B were aided in their group game by a master bowling performance from yours truly: 1 over 0 maiden 4 wickets 5 runs ……… OWZAT!

The winners who qualified for the overall final the following week were Lytham St Annes.

All teams were treated to the annual warm up session with CRB's Wayne Shaw prior to play commencing!

The second week had 10 teams playing so they were split into a morning group of 4 teams and 2 afternoon groups of 3 teams with the winner and runner up in morning group and the winner of the afternoon groups qualifying for the semi finals, which were as follows:

HASSRA NW beat North Fylde A (Steve Perkins earlier had the unbelievable figures of 1 over 1 maiden 4 wickets 0 runs!).

North Fylde B beat Bolton.

The winners who qualified for the overall final were North Fylde B.

The winners of the overall final were North Fylde B who will go onto represent the North West at the regional final. Player of the competition was James Booth from North Fylde B.

Both days cricket were played in the right spirit and credit goes to all teams for this.
