News > National Skittles Report 2011
The 2011 National Skittles Championship were held at the Civil Service Club in Cheltenham, with 5 regions playing on a round robin league basis. They were Scotland, N.Ireland, Midlands, North West and the South West.
In the first round of matches N.Ireland beat the Midlands and the South West region beat Scotland in which was a rematch of last year’s final decider. The South West were represented by last year's winners from the Bath area for the second year running.
The SW Region beat Northern Ireland in the second round but lost by a mile to the Midlands in the third round of games (the first match lost in two years by the South West). There were also wins for Scotland and the North West.
In the final round of games Scotland beat the Midlands and the South West beat the North West.
At the end both Scotland and the South West were tied on points(6pts each) so it came down to a pin difference of 25 pins after 20 legs played in favour of the South West team.
Everyone had a very enjoyable day and my thanks go to the Cheltenham Club for hosting the event and also to Daniel Craggs for attending the event and to Peter Fischer for presenting the trophies at what was his last official engagement as an Executive Vice Chairman of CSSC.
I attach a couple of photos, 1 black & white and 1 coloured with the names of the winners shown below:-
