September Members' Draw Results!

Gregory Hicks of Royal Mail, Ipswich was stunned when CSSC entered Ipswich's Post Office building on Monday 21 September with some great news - that he was CSSC's top prize winner in September's Members' Draw, making Gregory the second winner of a brand new Ford Ka!

Greg was just about to start his evening shift at 10.30pm when CSSC's Director of Operations, David Hayday and Membership Recruitment Team Manager, Sam Hart, accompanied by Gavin Palfrey, the Area Chairman from Suffolk, informed him of his win in a surprise presentation. Greg was clearly stunned as he had to sit down and didn't hesitate to welcome a nice cup of tea!

Michelle Ramsay, Night Shift Manager said: 'When I'd found out that Greg had won something and that the Head of Operations was coming to surprise him, I was wondering what it was he'd won and whether it could've been the car. To keep this a secret from Greg was really difficult because we're like a family on the night shift but it was a lovely secret to keep. It couldn't have happened to a nicer person and tonight, for the first time in a very long time, we actually got a 'feel good factor' on the shift when we're going through such a tough time work wise.'

Stuart Talbot, Greg's Line Manager, was also thrilled at his colleague's win - especially as he had predicted a dose of good luck! He said, 'My wife is extremely superstitious and she says that, should a white feather land somewhere near you, something good will happen. Last week, I was working alongside Greg and a feather floated down and landed on his shoulder. Well, you can imagine - we've been joking all week, saying "What are your lottery numbers gonna be Greg?" Greg likes fishing so we've all been winding him up, saying "You're going to catch that big fish!" I couldn't believe it when he won a car - we were only joking! Maybe there's truth in what my wife says after all. It couldn't have happened to a nicer bloke.'

After he'd got over the initial shock, we heard from the elated winner. Greg said, "I'm gobsmacked. I'm knocked sideways. I'm just so happy; I've never won anything before! I just can't believe that something like this has happened to me. I'm even more surprised that the manager kept it a secret from me - we're like a family in here and I knew something was wrong when Michelle wouldn't talk to me! I'm just so happy."
