CSSC National Snooker Final 2011 - Golden Anniversary

The 2011 National Snooker Finals took place with the Tri Finals in Stoke at the aptly named "Reardon Snooker Club"

It was the Golden (50th) Anniversary of the tournament which produced a 5 star & 5 times winner in Mark Miller from the North West.

He won the Final 4-0 against the 2009 winner Simon Hickman (Midlands) making breaks of 44,48,65 and 73 in the process. This was a far cry from his qualifying matches in which he made 112 twice!

In his Semi-Final he beat 2000 winner Terry Greenough now with (Midlands) 3-0 while Simon beat Phil Fitgerald from North West by the same score.

In the 50 years of the tournament only one other player has won 5 times before and Mark will be after the hat trick next year.

The Plate competition was won by Jimmy Miekle (Scotland) who came from a frame behind to beat Martin Lever (East).

The standard was very high and the only Region not represented was Southern for who we need an organiser very urgently. Anyone interested should contact Daniel Craggs of the CSSC events team on 01494888417 or daniel.craggs@cssc.co.uk
