Nearly 140 competitors from Scotland, Wales, and Northern and Southern Ireland descended on Stormont Pavilion, Belfast, to take part in one of the best, if not the best, attended Celtic Games ever on 22 June.
Each year this fantastic event circulates among the four host nations with local organisers co-ordinating the events and activities.
The challenge is to keep things fresh and to try new and fun ideas so that enjoyment levels remain high.
Men's 5-a-Side, Women's Hockey, Squash, Table Tennis, Bowls, Tennis and Triathlon were this years 'competitive' sports, switching in the afternoon to the slightly more 'social' activities of Quick Cricket, Rounders, Mini Targets and Skittles.
That didn't deter the competitive edge though as whilst played in a great spirit, the competition was keen throughout.
To finish off the day and to pull everyone together all the teams were mixed up and entered into a 'Fun Relay'. With Space Hoppers and Water Buckets adding to the already heightened amusement, it was a brilliant way to finish off a very enjoyable day.
Competitors arriving for Thursday night were provided with a fun and informal evening of Quiz, Karaoke and Disco...and although the Scots won the Quiz, the jury is still out on who triumphed in the Karaoke!
On the Friday night Northern Ireland hosted a lovely meal. Thanks were extended in the after dinner speeches and to finish off proceedings competitors could show off some more nifty moves on the dance floor.
The Celtic Games really is something worth experiencing and the 2008 competition gives you the chance to get involved.
Staged in Newport, Wales, further details will follow.
