Barbados Challenge 2011 - Clay Shooting
News > Barbados Challenge 2011 - Clay Shooting
The clay shooting went well on Saturday 27th August; we had 12 people shooting on the day. Unfortunately a couple of people were unable to attend, but Wayne Bennett brought his father along to watch and as the places were already paid for he joined in as well. He has now asked if he can join CSSC as a linked member.
Although no one said anything on the day, I withdrew from the competition as I thought I had a distinct advantage, as Martin Gorse Wood is my home ground and I was the only one with competition experience. However, Wayne Bennett is a worthy competition winner as he shot very well on the day, with Mick Hale giving him a good run for his money. Viv Hale is worthy of a separate mention; she turned up on the day with a very painful injury to her shoulder and managed to complete the course using a light weight 20 bore semi-automatic; and she was smiling all day!
Most of the other competitors had never used a shotgun before, but you will see from the scores that they all did very well and all of them enjoyed themselves and would love to have another shoot if and when we can arrange it.
As per the CSSC rules, everyone shot club guns and used club supplied cartridges
