| Revenue & Customs members dominate the 9 Ball Pool A very good day was enjoyed by one and all. The 2008 event saw a slight decrease in participation due to the number of entrants from Land Registry halving. There were 41 entries this year with most members coming from HMRC. We started with the doubles on a straight knockout basis. There was a very good standard of pool across the board. The doubles finished just prior to lunch and so after the buffet we started with the singles. This was also on a knockout basis with the first and second round losers going into the plate. Again there were lots of good games, and quite a few upsets, which meant that there are quite a few new names to go on the trophies. Winners of Open Singles was Shaun Speer (Wolverhampton) HMRC Runner up was Graeme Smith (Nottingham) HMRC Winner Open Doubles Duncan Hales and Lee Mann (Nottingham) HMRC Runners-up were Scott Parker and Phil Connolly (Nottingham) HMRC Winner Plate Singles Tony Lyall (Nottingham) HMRC Runner up was Gareth Woolley (Nottingham) HMRC Winner Plate Doubles winners Heather Robertson and Mark Jones (Nottingham) HMRC Runners-up Marcus Richards and Shaun Speer (Wolverhampton) HMRC I look forward to seeing as many people as possible again in 2009, especially from departments other than HMRC.
