CSSC member Edward Heardman will be running the 2012 Virgin London Marathon to raise money for the EllenorLions Hospices.
Edward says, "I'm running the 2012 Virgin London Marathon to raise money for the EllenorLions Hospices. At the age of two, my son Jamie was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia on 11th September 2001 (date ring a bell anyone?!), and the nurses at the Ellenor were great throughout all his treatment. Jamie had more than his fair share of complications, resulting in additional trips and stays in a number of hospitals. However, he is now thirteen and going great guns!
The Ellenor does great work with cancer sufferers of all ages, but as a charity is constantly looking for funds.
I've been a member of Thanet Roadrunners for two years now, and in that time have run three marathons - I'm looking to break 3hrs 45 mins at London, so if you're feeling especially generous, please bear that in mind to make me try harder!
Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations." If you would like to make a donation, please click here.
