"2012 SEV what is that?

Oh, a selection event volunteer. Well that was my first reaction when I checked the volunteer development site and seen London 2012 advertising for Pre Olympic Volunteers. 6 months later I was doing my first SEV shift at the Games Maker Selection Centre in Glasgow. As many of you know who have applied to be games makers you have to attend a selection centre for 2 hours, going round an exhibition and watching a video before being interviewed for 20mins by a SEV.

Over my shifts in Glasgow I did 40 interviews for Games Makers and this was the most motivating and inspiring thing I have ever done. Listening to people's past and present experiences was amazing. You just don't realise that we have so many wonderful people out in that big world.

I am sure that my experience of being part of London 2012 will live with me for ever and I hope that all CSSC members that attended selection events let us know the stories of how wonderful they are.

This may not be the end of my role I was invited to go to the Newcastle Selection event and the London Selection Event. Who knows I may just do that.

Oh and I signed up a new member!!!!"
