York Beer Festival

CSSC Area - Tyne, Wear & Northumberland

CSSC Region - North East

Event Start Date - 18/09/2009

Event Description

CSSC TWN Bottom Up trips to York on Friday 18 and Saturday 19 September 2009.

We are looking for between 10 and 20 people – at least five of whom must be CSSC members - to make up parties to go to York – one party on Friday 18 September, the other on Saturday 19. The trips will be leaving Newcastle Central Station around 10am and returning around 10.30pm on both days.

The dates happen to coincide with the York Beer Festival which, this year, has a new home, under canvas, at The Knavesmire (Tadcaster Road end near the racecourse – 15 minutes from the station and on a couple of bus routes). The new arrangement will allow the Festival to have increased capacity – up to 200 beers, 30 ciders and perries, a foreign beer bar, with wine and soft drinks also available! The Festival is open from noon until 11pm on both days.

Cost – if you come on the trip, you don't have to go to the Festival, you can just go for a day out in York with all that it has to offer, but the price of the trip (£23) includes entry to the Festival, breakfast on arrival in York and the return rail fare.

CSSC members who go to the Festival will receive a refund of £10 after their trip and those who just go for a day in York will receive refunds of either £9 or £8 depending on whether they have the breakfast in York.

All those wishing to join either trip should e-mail Peter Lawson (address below) before the end of July at Lawson, Peter (LocalCOMP CCG CITEX). Please state which day's trip you wish to go on.

Closing date is Friday 4 September 2009

Member Price (£) - 10
