Ever wanted to cook like Rick Stein or Gordon Ramsey? Well here's your chance!


Whether it's to put the finishing touches to your culinary skills, learn about a cooking skill never tried before or to merely start from scratch, CSSC, in conjunction with the Ashburton Cookery School is offering you the opportunity to learn to cook!


The Ashburton Cookery school offers a fresh approach to cookery with exciting courses that emphasise hands-on involvement, top quality Devon produce and inspirational teaching. All their courses are based around fundamental cookery techniques and methods that can be applied whether you're working in a professional kitchen or entertaining at home.


All teachers are fully qualified lecturers and NVQ assessors with extensive experience of working in the catering industry, bringing with them a wealth of knowledge and expertise. Most classes have a maximum of 10 students and tuition is almost all "hands on" work. Through their tutors, students are guided through fundamental techniques to build a repertoire which helps the student develop their skills to the best of their ability.


Courses start at 09.30am on the Saturday finishing at 5.30pm. Sunday's course will start at 09.30am finishing at 3.30pm.


In addition to the ingredients and superb tuition, those attending the course will be provided with a light lunch followed by an early evening tasting of your sample menu around 5pm with a glass of wine with your fellow students. On the Sunday students work through until 2.30pm, and the course finishes with the three courses that have been prepared, a glass of wine and the opportunity to review the course, with informal discussion around the table.
