Event Description Andorra Haven’ of the Pyrenees

Day 1 – Local departure then to our overnight hotel in the Paris area.
Day 2 – Head south and through the Dordogne region to arrive in Andorra for a four-night stay. B,D
Day 3 – Andorra La Vela (included). The principality of Andorra is a must for ardent shoppers and lovers of stupendous mountain scenery.
The country is set high in the Pyrenees has the highest life expectancy in the world and is a very prosperous little country due to tourism and its status as a tax haven. Today we visit Andorra La Vela where you will find some amazing bargains on all kinds of goods.
Sightseeing opportunities in this old town include the Casa de la Val (house of the valley), a 16th century building which has been used as Andorra’s Parliament since 1702. Enjoy the day exploring the delights of this mountain town. B,D
Day 4 – Barcelona (included). Today we travel to Barcelona, Spain’s second largest city and one of the Mediterranean’s busiest ports. The city has a delightfully relaxed atmosphere – particularly along the Rambles, where you can join the locals casually strolling along the tree-lined walkway. Barcelona boasts many amazing buildings designed during the artistic explosion of Modernism – be sure to see the extraordinary Sagrada Familia, a very unconventional church, whose building is still being finished today.
Antonio Gaudi’s giant Cathedral has been under construction since 1882. Gaudi himself had an active role in directing the construction of the huge church until his death in 1926. See as well the ‘Barri Gothic’ or Gothic Quarter in the centre of the Old Town, where some of buildings date back to medieval and Roman times. B,D
Day 5 – Three Countries Tour (optional). A day in three countries, Andorra, Spain and France. In the morning we cross the border into Spain to La Seu d’Urgell, one of the most historically important towns in the Catalan Pyrenees, named after the imposing cathedral (La Seu), a lovely Romanesque building dating from 11th and 12th centuries. We then visit the riverside town of Puigcerda, right on the border with France. Later in the afternoon we call at the French Pyrenees ski resort of Font Romeu. We return to Andorra through Port d’Envalira. B,D
Day 6 – We head north to our overnight hotel in the Paris area. B
Day 7 – Arrive Calais and return home. B
