The match against the police had moved to a new venue of West Lancs golf course on the
coast near Liverpool. Given the reports on the venue the team were looking forward to a tough
test on a quality links course. We were not disappointed and we were also blessed with good weather and what locals described as a gently breeze of about 20 mph.

As we had done all season we performed well in the foursomes and gained a 1 point lead to take into the singles with notable victories for Tony Inman and debutant Dave Hough and for the slightly more experienced pairing of Rob Godley and Neil Hughes.

Messer's Godley and Hughes continued to perform well in the afternoon and both won their matches - age is clearly no barrier in this game.

Dave Hough completed a very successful debut with a win and it was great to see Chris Hewitt returning from injury with yet another singles point. The result of the afternoon however belonged to Graham Bell, out no 1 against a former professional and 3 down with 4 to play he proceeded to win the lot, birdieing 17 then hitting to a foot on the last for another birdie and the win.

3 for 3 for the season and with one match left against the RAF we are on for an unprecedented clean sweep.
