The Civil Service Bowling Association [CSBA] was formed by Civil Service Sports Council members at an inaugural meeting held on 4th September 1922. The main purpose of the meeting was to specify the primary reason of the Association which was
"..to arrange competitions of single-handed, pairs and single rinks, Civil Service Championships of the British Isles, matches with kindred Associations and International Civil Service matches between England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland, whereby the game might be fostered and advanced in the Service."
These words, brought up to date, are still in the opening paragraph of our current Constitution.
The affairs of the Association are managed in the period between Annual General Meetings by a Council which includes
The Council meets quarterly with most meetings held in Cheltenham since this is easily accessible from all parts of the United Kingdom.
