It is an honour and a privilege to be President for 2008. I would like to thank John Chapman M.B.E.

 for his dedication in this role for 2006/7, 2007 being shared with yours truly.
We are now at a time when membership continues to fall at an alarming rate, down 71 on 2006. This is also having an effect on members coming forward to fill the posts of E.C.S.B.A officers. The cost of travel is, I believe, being the main reason and I urge you to consider car sharing as a way of easing the cost. We all need to do our bit in promoting our Association, attracting new members, etc. Seek out those people who have left the Association and try to encourage them to rejoin, to once more take up this wonderful game of bowls. I look forward to seeing you on the green in 2008.
Finally, I should like to thank all those Officers who have dedicated their time in the smooth running of the Association. A

 special mention to Robin Williams who after 7 years of dedication (blood, sweat and tears) in the office of Assistant Match Secretary has decided to stand down. I wish his successor John Wood all the very best for the future.
