CSSC took on FEDERATION at the Men's Rep Match
The CSSC side got off to a poor start on a rain drenched green at the Grove Bowling Club, Atherstone Staffs. And, after the first four matches were completed, the match was abandoned for an hour before resuming in warm sunshine. The Federation team adapted far better to the wet conditions and were worthy winners on the day, with a 54 chalk difference between the two teams. Usually, this annual challenge match is a close run affair with honours shared over the past few seasons and by only single figure margins, so this result was a big disappointment for CSSC, having only four close winners on the day, with Bernard Carroll (Warrington) being the best of the four, winning his game 21-16.
